Behind every successful project is a person who not only understands technology, but lives and breathes it. One of them is Jevgen Duzhyi, who has gone from mechanical design engineer to project manager at ibb – with passion, commitment, and the ambition to always improve.
From university to his first opportunity
When Jevgen wanted to gain a foothold in Germany after completing his mechanical engineering studies, the path to ibb house of engineering was almost predestined – albeit with a dose of coincidence.
“I was in the process of submitting my bachelor's thesis at the time and had to find a job quickly, otherwise my residence permit would have expired,” he explains.
While searching for suitable positions, he turned to the employment agency – where he noticed a job posting that he had already discovered himself: ibb.
After a friendly interview in Ulm, he was invited to attend a three-month CREO basic training course in Petersberg – with the prospect of being hired afterwards.
“Since I had already worked with CREO at university, it was easy for me to get started. But during the training, thanks to the dedicated team of trainers, I learned many new functions that I still use today.”
While he was still in training, he was approached by Andreas Vogt, one of the heads of Mechanical Design Engineering (MDE for short), and was given the opportunity to demonstrate his skills on a real design task.
Shortly afterwards, it was decided that he would become part of the internal design team — MDE.
Precision that inspires
When looking back on his previous projects, Jevgen highlights one in particular — his first project: the development of an alcohol measuring device.
“That was a real challenge,” he says. “Complex design surfaces, limited installation space, plastic-compatible construction, 2K components, and a water- and dust-tight design – all of that had to be taken into account.”
With creativity, technical understanding, and a keen eye for detail, he managed to complete the project successfully – and help design a product that he is still proud of today.
From developer to project manager
The role of project manager was the logical next step for Jevgen.
“I like to take on new challenges. I've always wanted to develop myself further and take on responsibility,” he says. After managing several projects independently and as the department continued to grow,
he eventually took on project management – today, he coordinates projects, optimizes internal processes, and ensures smooth communication between the team and the customer.
“Our flat hierarchies are a big advantage,” he emphasizes. “Everyone can actively participate and contribute to improving processes. Transparent communication is essential.”
Enthusiasm that lasts
What keeps him motivated after all these years at ibb?
“Quite clearly, the variety,” he says. “Every new project and every new client brings different tasks. That's what makes the work exciting.” He particularly appreciates the team spirit at ibb—the openness,
the exchange of ideas, and the creative energy that characterizes every project.
“We are constantly gaining new customers and familiarizing ourselves with new subject areas. This is not only professionally enriching, but also personally.”
Looking ahead
In his role as project manager, Jevgen's main focus is on driving quality, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth.
“My goal is for ibb house of engineering to continue to establish itself as a leading premium service provider – through excellent work, strong partnerships, and enthusiasm for every single project.”
Conclusion
Jevgen's story shows how potential becomes perspective at ibb house of engineering.
Through targeted support, professional excellence, and the opportunity to take on responsibility, careers are created that reflect our claim:
Premium engineering — by people who live and breathe technology.
