Michael: Experience Across Various Technology Sectors
Michael has been part of the Petersberg team since 2021 and has 25 years of experience in design and product development.
His professional career has taken him through several industries—from automotive and medical technology to aerospace and defense. During this time, he has developed and designed a wide range of technical components and assemblies.
In the automotive sector, he was involved, among other things, in the design of injection-molded parts for passenger car engines and turbochargers, as well as in the development of stamping and forming tools for transmission and axle components. In medical technology, he worked on dental treatment units and dialysis machines for home dialysis.
His areas of expertise include the design of plastic, sheet metal, and die-cast parts, the creation of technical concepts, and the construction of prototypes. In addition, he supported projects in the aerospace and defense sectors by converting technical drawings into precise CAD models.
Michael is currently working on the further development of a dialysis machine and is applying his experience to the design of injection-molded parts as well as to new product concepts.
Klaus: On-site client projects and many years of practical experience
Klaus began his career at ibb in 2001. After a structured onboarding process that included training and project preparation, he was assigned to his first on-site client project shortly thereafter.
In the years that followed, he worked continuously on a variety of projects and gained experience across various industries—from automotive and medical technology to industrial and custom plant engineering, as well as mining.
His responsibilities included, among other things, working on drive systems, medical technology components, measuring machines, robotic systems, and technical equipment. He also contributed to numerous solutions in the industrial and mining sectors, including pump systems, conveyor technology, shaft facilities, and safety-critical devices.
One defining event from that time remains unforgettable: On September 11, 2001, Klaus was working on transferring design data to an office in New York. He was unable to complete the task—his colleagues on the receiving end were in the World Trade Center.
Until mid-2025, Klaus worked on-site at customer locations. Since then, he has been working in Petersberg and supporting projects from headquarters, currently primarily in the mining sector.
A Shared Perspective
Michael and Klaus’s careers exemplify the wide range of responsibilities in design and product development—from conceptual work to implementation in specific projects at the customer’s site.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both of them on their 25th anniversary and thank them for their long-standing collaboration and their contributions to numerous engineering projects.
